Suite au succès inattendu du film Northern Soul sorti sur les écrans britanniques en 2014, une vague de rééditions déferle chez les importateurs depuis plusieurs mois. Parmi cette sélection, The Odyssey: A Northern Soul Time Capsule, un imposant coffret de 8-CDs + 2-DVDs accompagnés d’un généreux livret de 160 pages, est certainement le plus complet sur le sujet.
Disponible via Harmless Records le 16 février, cette sélection de 230 titres (!) replonge l’auditeur dans les soirées survoltées du Casino de Wigan et de la Mecca de Blackpool, hauts-lieux des rassemblements Northern Soul en compagnie des O’Jays, des Spinners, Chubby Checker, Darrell Banks et bien d’autres !
