Auteurs de deux albums confidentiels, Breakaway en 1977 et Straight On to the Top en 1979, Dale Sweetland et son backing-band moustachu originaires de l’Illinois prodiguaient une fusion disco/funk/rock d’excellente facture dans un univers proche de Rufus oud’un imaginaire Mother’s Finest discoïde. BBE Records proposera le 24 janvier des rééditions CD, digital et vinyle des deux LPs de Breakaway, notre préférence allant au stupéfiant premier album éponyme pour ses épatants « Everything’s Been Said About You » et « There’s a New Group in Town ».
